Wow… was doing plenty of “domestic” things on the weekend. Springcleaning, cooking, washing, organising & rearranging plus I threw a party. I really enjoyed it all, maybe cos it’s more fun than studying for exams.
Let’s recap… On Saturday, after half a day at the office, I went to the local bookshop to get my placemats laminated. Ah-ha! What?! Well, you see, on Friday evening while I was clearing away some old stuff, I stumbled upon this 2006 Calendar with the most beautiful flowers plus it had such meaningful scripture printed on each page. The calendar was a gift from my mother and to throw it away would be such a pity! Now I’ve got placemats with the most sentimental value ever!
After that, I took the LRT home and drove to Jusco. I shopped (so fun!) and bought everything I needed. Rushed home, marinated my roast chicken, seasoned the lamb and tried to make some pastry for a pie (and failed!) I had such a therapeutic time at the kitchen, I remember mentally making a note to throw more self-cook parties.
Then Sunday came, and I squeezed in time to go to church and soon I was home again. My cousin came with me. The best souz chef you could ever have. I destressed significantly because she was the shoulder I could lean on. Poor cousin.
The funniest moments we had? The wet-in-the-center brownies, the watched pot that never boils and the saucepot that runneth over. Gotta admit I was really proud of the ginger beer and root beer I had stocked up. I think the both of us really chilled with that.
Benny arrived at about 5.30pm and did some techie set up for the music, plus a bit of last-minute price tags removal from some new cups.
The guests streamed in from 6.00 pm onwards and boy, I was so nervous, I could have jumped into the spagghetti sauce to hide. Everyone was so quiet (ask my cousin!) I thought the meal must have been a disaster. I can only reassure myself it was because the guests didn’t know each other.
By the time the last guests arrived, everyone was in a good mood. Laughing and eating… The night ended earlier than expected… But it was almost 1 a.m. anyway. The closure was a game of Risk… I wanted to squeeze in more time for board games, but couldn’t.
Need to organize the next party soon! A big thank you to all friends and relatives who came! Plus, I really appreciate your support!

Are there more parties in KL?
Definitely more in this month than the last. There was the company annual dinner last Saturday which was a blast! It was a wonderful time of reunion for me and my Pasir Gudang / Paka friends plus, we partied till 4 in the morning.
I had an early breakfast the next day and made it to church with my cousin. She’s back from the UK (at last!!) and we had such a lovely time together. Benny pulled a surprise on me. He came to KL, in time for dinner with us. We were also privileged to savour the Chicken Devil Curry ‘tar-paued’ from Malacca… YUM!
This weekend, I’ll be going to Assera’s house for her Hari Raya party… then next week, it’ll be my turn to host some close buddies at my place… no not for Deepavalli, but just to gather some old friends at my new pad.

Sombre… that’s how I would describe my mood today… plus, I’m just wondering what’s gonna happen tomorrow… it’ll be the company 15th annual dinner.
I’m not very wordy today. Just want to say, ‘Hope for the best!

What to wear for annual dinner? I’ve solved 50% of the problem since last week. Found a really nice blouse. But it’s so hard to pair with anything. Can’t think of what to wear it with, except for leather pants… haha, I’m serious! But leather wouldn’t be appropriate for the dinner theme which is “Colours of Malaysia”… drats…
In between my monthly reports, I’m also dealing with this annual dinner thing. I’d say the planning has been quite messy but like what they always say, ‘when there’s a will there’s a way’, ‘there’s a silver lining in every cloud’ and ‘think positive’.
Well, the annual dinner will be over by this weekend, then I can start concentrating on other things. That reminds me, have to apply for examination leave since I’ll be having exams in November. Just read the procedures that I’m entitled to only 5 days in a year… >.<… but I have 6 subjects in a year.
Whatever it is, I’m party gonna concentrate on my own party which is coming soon… I hope it will be a blast!!! (I have 2 weeks – I keep saying that)… it’ll be a great way to unwind with good friends especially after all the stress of moving house and settling into my new position.

Wow, it’s been a week since I blogged! I must have been mentally drained… True… I was… quite…
As of 06.10.2008, I’ve submitted my law assignment.
BAH!
And today, I’ll gladly forget about it and do more meaningful things instead. Firstly, there’s work. Secondly, there’s the company annual dinner over the weekend… However, what I’m really looking forward to is my own party.
It’s been ages since I planned a party at home… (of course, my wedding party was a blast last year, but I didn’t really plan it – I just managed it… hehehe…)
Anyways, it won’t really be a party unless my friends pump it up! Hopefully, I whip up a delicious dinner for my guests. *pressure*pressure* cos Benny wants to eat at home.
So… I’ve got two things to plan… #1 Itinerary #2 Dinner… any ideas?
