Everyday is a school day! I love that phrase because it reminds me that it’s good to learn something new everyday.
Yesterday, I learnt that 1901 hotdogs are sold at discounted prices every 19th of the month. It was my mom who noticed the ad banner in KLCC yesterday. Wonderful! And since it was the 19th yesterday, she bought me hotdogs… I must say I was impressed that the hotdogs were so well-preserved (not soggy and mushy) when we brought them home.
That’s like, plenty of walking time, train time, car time, kakaka…
Oh btw, yesterday when I was parking my car at the apartment, I freaked out. You see, the car parked in the lot behind mine, had some of its parts dismantled. It looked like someone had broken in to steal stuff. The engine bonnet was open and the driver’s window was down. I thought of reporting to the guards but mom and Benny said leave it.
This morning the car looked normal. I suppose the owner was tinkering around with it, and must have gone upstairs to get something or take nature’s call.
Whew!
Sigh, I miss eating the hotdogs they sell in Chinchilla.

Seafood… the pleasures of eating seafood… the joys of sucking on juicy crustaceans. muahahaha!
Strange, why am I thinking of seafood right now… It’s my lunch break and I really should get going… Nothing much to blog about except that I have busy months ahead.

Didn’t know there is such a movie – “Breakfast on Pluto”… but as I was browsing google for images, that’s exactly how I felt today…
Was in a cosy corner of the McD’s at Masjid Jamek as usual, sipping premium roast coffee shortly after finishing my fillet-o-fish. Reading the newspaper and watching the strange-looking people rushing off to work or trying to hail a taxi.
Been having breakfast in McD’s twice a week… partly because of the privilege discount card. Haven’t been eating fillet-o-fish for years till now. Must say that McD’s successfully caters to all age-groups and people from all walks of life… oh now, now, am I stuck in marketing speak?
Well, being in the air-cond restaurant looking through the window made me feel like I was in a completely different world. The harsh reality was outside, but the warmth and meaning of life, inside where I was.
(McD’s AND Sara) XOR (Benny) !
Today was more like
(McD’s AND Sara)

Plans change so easily when you’re in KL. Yesterday, I had planned to go to check out my new home and see what’s what… but I detoured because Amelia called.
So there we were… smack in the middle of the weekend crowd, in The Gardens (Midvalley)… Sharon was late but she made it. I was so glad the KTM Komuter stops at Midvalley. Those days I remember walking from Seputeh station just to go there. Driving is a bad option on weekends. You’ll be spinning around the carpark for half-an-hour or more looking for an empty bay.
We had lunch at Pastis. Had the most delicious pesto (vegetables-only-spagghetti). It was drowned in mint sauce and would have been perfect if there was a bit of lamb in it. However I also had the most disastrous Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows. The drink tasted like the thick sedimented bottom layer of a Hot Milo. Bleccchh! Nandos serves better hot choco but they don’t have marshmallows.
The main reason why Amelia had dragged us there was because she had an important announcement. She might be going abroad. Well, if she really does, I believe it’ll be a great career move for her! Kudos!
By the way, in order to redeem my poor taste buds… I headed straight to get the large sized Aunty Anne’s lemonade. As usual it didn’t disappoint me. Next time you’re thirsty, try it.
Sunday came and it was back to SIBKL. Can really feel the weight of God’s glory and the sweeping touch of the Holy Spirit throughout the worship. Quite reminiscent of the worship style in Brisbane City Church. The lesson of the day was “Do not call unclean what I have made clean.” It was fascinating because that’s what I’ve been telling myself when I look into the eyes of all the people roaming the streets near my office.
I must have been so tired because I fell into a deep sleep back in the hotel. The Devil wears Prada was on TV. Decided to watch it because the last two times it was on TV, I never got to finish the movie.
I was so fascinated by the high life depicted by Meryl Streep. She is a wonderful actress. And wowz… then I heard it… “…booked at Pastis.”
Oh… hey that’s where I ate. I’m sure she didn’t order hot chocolate with marshmallows.

After that heavy banana leaf lunch yesterday, I would like to imagine myself without that abdominal section of the body… Kind of like, head & thorax, no abdomen… then I wouldn’t feel so guilty!
Well, my friend kindly consoled me that I have consumed 16 nutritious herbs in that meal and therefore I should be healthier after than before.
Yesterday wasn’t too bad… we finally started planning for the office Family Day (next month!) and also the company 15th Anniversary dinner (October!)… Being the perfectionist, down-to-the-last-detail kind of person… it was a bit of a culture shock to see how lightly the others took the event… the fact that there is NO time doesn’t seem to shake them.
We’re leaving most of the work to the professional entertainment companies. Nevertheless, attention to detail is important to ensure that the event has that personal touch… Do you hear me? Anyone?
Oh well… I feel privileged to be involved in the planning anyway. It’ll be fun!!
