I’m going to PD!!! Can’t wait to hit the beach… Family Day was ok lar since we had it at a water theme park… but there’s nothing like real sand and surf!

Ps Mark asked us to read up on the book of Ephesians… will do that today. Meanwhile, I’m asking myself… what is it I really want from the camp…. it’s always important to lay down your expectations before God so that you get to see how far God takes you from there…

As for work…there’s a lot of commotion outside my office right now… I can see the National Day practices because my window overlooks the Dataran Merdeka. Just a minute ago, helicopters bearing flags of each state flew towards the square.

So fun!

Remember to pray for our country.

What’s the secret of setting up a comfy bed?

I spent a night at the Kampung Air chalets during the Family Day… The chalets are part of the Bukit Merah Laketown Resort. Not the most luxurious beds in the world, but comfy enough.

The best hotel bed I’ve ever slept on was the JW Marriot in KL, followed by the Cyberview Lodge in Cyberjaya. Some of my friend’s homes have really comfy beds too.

My new bed at home is very nice too… but it’s got to be a lot better to reach “luxurious”. Should I get better linen?

Tmrw we leave for Bukit Merah for the office Family Day… but my mind isn’t there cos Benny can’t make it… I’m looking forward to the TNT camp in Port Dickson which is in two weeks! Yippee! It’ll be a time of ‘reunion’ with the JB gang too. Have not had fellowship with them for ages.

The photo above was taken by someone in Port Dickson… it’s so cool… and it certainly expresses how I feel about the TNT camp! I’m so excited!

The theme for this year is En Counter… to encounter God and to be counted for Him. Yes Lord, that’s what I desire!

Hey everyone, we are two weeks into the new year and hopefully we’ve set our goals for the year. Things should be set in motion now and all we should do is work towards that which we’ve set upon our hearts to accomplish!

I’m kinda bummed actually. There are 2-3 things I might consider goals, but they are such half-hearted goals.

Ah but talk of resolutions may spice up life a little, so why not indulge. At the same time, let’s look at what I’ve achieved in two weeks!

  1. Travel – This time the destination was Koh Samui. I was so impressed by the airport (please do not fly to Surat which is the mainland, fly directly into Koh Samui airport please – the island paradise itself). Not only did the architecture impress me, the staff were friendly, and the immigration tried to conserve space on my passport by stamping on some older pages. Plus, while waiting for my flight home, there awaited me a relaxing lounge with a generous buffet spread – plus internet-ready PCs. I’m glad I made that trip. Enough about the airport. What you really should do at Koh Samui is go on a day-tour to Ang Thong Marine Park. I did my tour with Sea/Island Safari – I totally recommend them!
  2. Watch Heroes – I’m done with Season 1, although a bit disappointed that Isaac Mendez had to die. I felt he had the most significant superpower – the ability to draw the future. The writers of Heroes must be applauded for their imagination… Not only did Isaac paint on canvas, he produced a manga series too… My favourite character is still Hiro Nakamura – kawaii!
  3. Spend time with family – After my disappearance to Australia, it was time to catch up with the family. All’s well in Penang and it’s good to see new development in my island hometown. Plus, I’m glad the food is still as good and as cheap as ever.

Had one of the best get-togethers and getaways yesterday. Ten of us from the TnT leadership team set out on Weds evening and headed towards Sebana Cove. Our little escapade started off with lots of enthusiasm eventhough we were caught in heavy traffic believed to be caused by the Hari Raya Haji long weekend.

I was excited because I have not been to this corner of Johor in a long time. I think the last time I was even near to Desaru was during Family Day in 2003?

We had great fellowship and good food. We spent hours strategizing (playing Risk) and team-building (building allies to win in Risk)… haha… and we had BBQ twice – wowz!

I thoroughly enjoyed myself because everyone put on their best behaviour and were so part of the group. In fact, eventhough it looked like we didn’t really have a plan, I believe a lot of effort went into preparing the food.

Thursday’s seafood dinner was great and so reasonable. We had lobster, crab, baby calamari and red snapper at Jade Garden Sungai Rengit. A food haunt I had heard about when I was miles away in Chinchilla. Finally I had a chance to eat there.

Morning devotion on Thursday was based on Ephesians 1. A rich passage on predestination, but to me, on a personal level, a profound assurance of our Father’s love.

God bless you this weekend as you prepare your hearts for Christmas!
